After discussions with Karen Post and Bobbi-Jo White of the Alzheimer’s Society of the Niagara Region, MP Consolidated Inc. is expanding the “Live Chess by the Falls” event advocacy work to include this organization.
The Alzheimer’s Society of Niagara Region has been serving the community for over 38 years, providing support, resources, and education to individuals living with dementia and their caregivers.
Services include personalized counseling, support groups, educational programs, and community resource referrals. They emphasize public education on dementia, advocate for better care, and promote research efforts. The website also provides information on how to donate, volunteer, and participate in events. Their mission is to enhance the quality of life for those affected by dementia in the Niagara region.
The Alzheimer’s Society of Niagara Region receives some government funding however the majority of funds come from fundraising efforts, corporate and individual donors. An impressive approximate 96% of funds go directly to services.
